Top 11 Must-Haves for your Beach Bag

Summer is here and the sun seems to beg for our attention, as it has already nicely set itself and not ready to go anytime soon. So many of us are thinking of heading to the beach, at least for a weekend get away, but we often forget to pack some of the most important things we need for our summer bag.

1. Sunscreen

Wearing sunscreen is really the number one most important thing to take with you during your summer vacation. It prevents against skin cancer and sunburns, especially for people with lighter skin. SPF 15 filters out around 93 percent of all incoming UVB rays. SPF 30 keeps out 97 percent and SPF 50 keeps out 98 percent. It’s a must because it protects you from aging and making your skin look dehydrated and wrinkled.

2. Sunglasses

As well as wearing protection for your skin, you should also wear protection for your eyes. It is highly important that you choose sunglasses which protect the eyes against UV risks, with lenses block 99% or 100% of UVB and UVA rays, and that have UV 400 protection. More than protecting your eyes tissue, they really are a fashion statement, and you can easily accessorize your beach outfit with a pair of fancy sunglasses.

3. Mini deodorant

In your summer bag it is a must to have mini deodorants, along with mini perfumes, if you’re more into the perfume fever and you like to have as many bottles of perfume as possible. The reason is quite simple, you will definitely need it at all times, because it can happen that you spend one day on the beach and your body is sweaty, so you can try to keep a nice fragrance on your body, after drying yourself.

4. Water bottle

Good hydration is what helps you keep your body healthy and fit, and during the summer, it is a must to carry in your bag everywhere with you a bottle of water. During the warm season, your body eliminates higher amounts of toxins and water, and drinking 2 litres per day is a way to prevent dehydration and keeping you cool. It is recommended that you don’t take large sips, because it can damage your health. Of course, teas are also recommended, so if you like drinking a more flavored beverage while lying on the lounge chair, you can also try it.

5. Lip product with SPF

Your lips may get also dehydrated from long stays in the sun, so we recommend you use a lip product with SPF, which also reduces the risk of getting skin cancer. You can get serious inflamations to your lips if you’re sunbathing, so this is an essential element to include in your luggage when going to the seaside. Don’t forget that your lips also have to stay beautiful and hydrated at all times!

6. Wipes

We are almost sure that these facial or body wipes are also in your daily bag, but we still have to remind you of the benefits you will get of carrying these around at the beach. If you are the type who likes to wear makeup, even if it is light make up, though we highly recommend not to wear any because under the sun’s rays, it can severly damage your skin, these will help you easily get it off. Facial wipes also come in handy when you are sweaty and need to quickly freshen up after tanning.

7. Band-aids

Thanks to Earle Dickson, who invented the band aid in 1921, we can rapidly stop any bleedings and cuts and keep ourselves sterile when we have a wound. When going on a vacation, it is always best to keep everything you need with you in your bag. It often happens that you can hurt yourself, even while you’re at the beach or swimming in the sea or pool. Therefore, it is easier to have in your bag some band-aids. They can be very helpful in a lot of situations.

8. Hair accessories

Hair ties and hair brushes, combined with your daily hair products, need to be in your bag. You will, at all times, for medium and long hair, need to have a hair tie so that it protects it from breaking. When you purchase a hair brush, make sure it has natural fiber hair, so that it will be smooth on your hair. If you combine hair products suitable for your hair type with brushing each day, you will have a healthier hair. You can also try the famous tip of leaving your hair wet after coming out of the sea in order for it to absorb the elements from the salted water.

9. Bug spray

If you know you are allergic or sensitive to bugs, you can make that stress of getting sores by applying some bug spray. This is more suitable actually for nights out, when bugs come in swarms. That way, you can enjoy your romantic evening by the seaside. The bug spray might even save you from some awkward situations, when there are a lot of mosquitos around and that may prevent you from having  a quiet evening, so try it!

10. Towels

You need to have at least a set of towels with you, their number depending on the number of days you will stay at the seaside. At the beach, a towel will always be appreciated, whether it is for you, or your partner. Make sure though, it is made of cotton, so that it does not make you feel even warmer. The most important thing about towels to remember, is that, besides body wipes, they help draw moisture.

11. Yoghurt

Though it may seem a bit unusual to have yoghurt in your beach bag, this may really come in handy whenever you will get a sunburnt on your skin. It may an antique way of dealing with burns, but it is simple and efficient. And, if you won’t use it for your skin, you can always eat it!
